Good Morning Digestion Suggestion Readers. Eatocracy has posted a blog about the peach recall that I think everyone needs to read. This recall, however, has affected many favorite shopping spots in the WNY region. The fruit recall has been expanded to include plums and nectarines, even of the organic variety. WNY stores include Wegmans, Trader Joe’s, Sam’s Club and Walmart. The expansion has been pushed out to anything sold up to July 17th. The original affected date was mid June. Please see Eatocracy for more information about this fruit recall.
If you’ve bought California nectarines, peaches, plums or pluots lately, even the organic kind, check the label carefully.
The Wawona Packing Co. in Cutler, California, announced late last week it’s expanding a voluntary recall of its products.
The fruit may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause listeriosis. This serious infection can give you temporary problems such as a high fever, abdominal pain and diarrhea, headaches, stiffness and nausea.
